ASIAN PEAR MARTINI

Book Title

About the book

ASIAN PEAR MARTINI

From Fruitful

A lot of fruity cocktails are overly sweet and completely devoid of any actual fruit. This one gets its fresh, floral flavor from a ripe Asian pear muddled and mixed with a potent combination of vodka and pear-infused brandy.

Makes 1 drink

1/4 cup / 40 g peeled and fi nely diced Asian pear
1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
2 ounces / 60 ml good-quality vodka
1 ounce / 30 ml pear brandy, such as Poire William
1 lime wedge
Thin Asian pear slice, for serving

Combine the chopped pear and sugar in the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Muddle the mixture until it forms a juicy mash. Fill the shaker three quarters of the way with ice and add the vodka, brandy, and a squeeze of lime juice.
Shake thoroughly, and strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with the pear slice.
